Match Review LS2 | Selangor FC 3-0 DPMM FC | First Home Match of The Season

Selangor FC secured their first three points in the 2025/26 Super League campaign after defeating Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota (DPMM) FC with a 3-0 win at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya last night.

The match started with high energy. Kevin Deeromram, the Red Giants’ new import player, scored his first two goals for the club on the 5th and 36th minute of the #SFCDPMM match , both assisted by Quentin Cheng. Later, another new signing for the Red & Yellow this season, Chrigor Moraes, finally added to the team’s tally in the 67th minute with a neat header after several attempts on target. Meanwhile, Quentin Cheng recorded a hat-trick of assists for all three goals on the night.

This first home victory places the team in fifth place in the 2025/26 Super League standings with a total of three points.

According to Red Giants' Head Coach, Katsuhito Kinoshi, he expressed satisfaction with the win but emphasized that the players must remain focused ahead of upcoming matches, “This victory shows that we are at a good level, but strength alone is not enough. We need to continue improving our weaknesses and prepare thoroughly for the matches ahead.”

When asked about the new players, he said
“Kevin Deeromram has shown satisfactory performance so far with his two goals, but unfortunately, no assists were recorded by him last night. We will work on improving this area. In my opinion, new players like Kevin Deeromram, Chrigor Moraes, and Zach Clough are still trying to adapt to Malaysian football. They have great potential to continue helping the team achieve success alongside the current squad of players.”

Selangor FC’s management would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the 4,260 supporters who attended the match at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya last night to support the team in their first home game of the season.

Up next, in the first Round of 16 match of the 2025 FA Cup, Selangor FC will face Malaysian University on August 16 at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya as the away team. The match is scheduled for a 5:00 PM kick-off time.

Selangor FC hopes to maintain this fighting spirit in the upcoming matches.
